The consumer market might be a bit focused on the new graphics card from NVIDIA at the moment, but Xtreamer figured it may as well use this same time to unleash an HTPC upon the worldwide market.

Home-theater personal computers have come to be quite widespread among customers that don't have anything stopping them from acquiring more than one PC.

Consumers usually try to make sure their primary (and often only) system has as much performance as they can afford, but this doesn't mean they have to restrict themselves to just that single system, or that they can't have just a purely multimedia-centric machine.

With high-quality videos so widely available in DVD and Blu-ray format, it only makes sense that HTPCs would be as often encountered as they are.

That said, Xtreamer decided to offer one such machine, dubbed Xtreamer Ultra HTPC, although shipments won't start until the third of may, 2011.

The CPU used was not mentioned, but the pre-order page located here does point out the existence of the NVIDIA ION 2 GPU (graphics processing unit).

The same web page also shows the existence of the obligatory HDMI port (1.4a) and of the 4 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory).

What's more, Xteamer threw in six USB sockets and an IR remote. Basically, it should have all it takes to run any video and be used easily. In fact, should one place pre-orders before the end of next month (April, 2011), they will receive an HDMI 1.4a cable, an 8 GB USB key and a copy of the Linux OS (operating system) as part of the product bundle.

The price is of 249 Euro in Europe, while US customers should be able to get it for $323. Needless to say, Windows 7 is also supported by the small form factor product.
