TheeMahn proudly announced last night, March 16th, the immediate availability for download of the Ultimate Edition 3.2 operating system.

Ultimate Edition 3.2 is now based on the Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) operating system and includes the Unity interface, as well as the GNOME 3.2 desktop environment and its Fallback mode.

The distro contains lots of updated packages, vmlinuz and initrd were rebuilt, and the old kernels were purged.

Ultimate Edition 3.2 includes the following desktop environments: GNOME 3, GNOME Classic, GNOME Fallback, Unity, Unity 2D, and XMBC, all selectable on the login screen.

New artwork and a new GTK3 theme, as well as a comprehensive software package, were also added in this release.

"Ultimate Edition 3.2 was built of Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot 11.10. Vast and I mean vast changes have occurred in the introduction of new environments."

"The Gnome 3 Environment I still call far from a stable environment. I must be honest I am still a Unity hater ;) That does not mean I should turn my back on our users." - said TheeMahn in the forum announcement.

About Ultimate Edition

Created by TheeMahn, Ultimate Edition is a Linux distribution based on Canonical's Ubuntu operating system. It comes bundled with a lot more apps and tools than Ubuntu and Linux Mint, and it also has a very unique and somewhat over-the-top visual style.

Ultimate Edition was previously known as Ubuntu Ultimate, but started life as Ubuntu Christmas Edition. There is also a specialized version, the Ultimate Edition Gamers, which includes all the applications from the Ultimate Edition and many Linux games.
