On 20th November, the Macedonia Ministry of Education and Science announces that they will deploy more than 180,000 desktop computers pre-installed with Edubuntu 7.04. This is part of a project called "Computer for Every Child" which is one of the largest known thin client and desktop Linux deployments ever undertaken.

"Macedonia is showing tremendous vision by deciding its own destiny in choosing how its children will learn through computing. By choosing Ubuntu which is free to modify, use and redistribute it turns students into participants in Information Technology and not simply consumers of it." - said Mark Shuttleworth, founder of the Ubuntu Project.

Azureus Gets Fix in Gutsy Gibbon, after John Dong worked very hard over the past weeks to fix a bug when Azureus hangs or crashes showing splash screen at start. Therefore, anyone is urged to update their systems.

The use of the Linux operating system on desktop computers continues to grow in 2007 and Ubuntu wins again with more than 56% of the vote. Go take the survey and see how much things have changed in the Linux world. Hurry up, it's available until the end of this month!
