Watch Dogs is still more than six months away from launch but the development team at Ubisoft Montreal is keen to introduce more information about the game, including how it will mix single and multiplayer modes in new and interesting ways.

The official PlayStation European blog says that the development team is not yet willing to explain exactly how the separate elements of the game will be integrated but players will be able to transition from one to another.

Apparently, the interconnectivity of Watch Dogs will be extended to a number of companion apps that will be launched on mobile devices at the same time as the core game.

Main character Aiden Pearce is a master of cybersecurity and can penetrate the most protected network in the city.

But Watch Dogs will encourage players to also log into the systems of normal citizens who might not have too many protections, but do offer the possibility of bearing witness to their daily routines, which in turn can lead to important data acquisition.

Gamers can use their ability access information to also predict when and where crime will take place, which will be the focus of most of the secondary missions in Watch Dogs.

The ctOS for Chicago has complex data sets that Pearce can interpret in order to track down potential targets and make sure that they get through their daily commute without incident.

The PlayStation blog also talks about another side mission: NVZN, an augmented reality arcade game where players need to fight aliens with ray guns.

Watch Dogs is expected to launch on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, the Wii U and the PC on November 19 in the United States and November 21 in Europe.

A PlayStation 4 version will be out as soon as the Sony console is released.
