Ubisoft is pretty certain that its newly announced Far Cry 3 will be able to amaze players no matter the platform, as its Montreal-based studio is set to showcase its years of multiplatform experience with the new shooter.

[admark=1]Ubisoft's Far Cry series has always set a benchmark for impressive graphics and realistic gameplay, so, with the third installment, which was showcased during the E3 2011 conference, the French company wants to up the ante once again.

We've already seen a pretty impressive video demonstration alongside the actual announcement, and now, the producer of the game, Dan Hay, revealed to CVG that the team at Ubisoft Montreal will deliver a great experience across all platforms, but PC users will be the only ones that can "dial it to 11."

"Far Cry is a franchise born on PC, so we want to make sure with the PC experience you can dial it to 11," he said. "But at the same time we've got a ton of experience working on Xbox 360 and PS3, and for us making sure that they're on parity with that stuff is incredibly important. So we want to make sure that if you're playing it on PS3 it looks incredible, and if you're playing on the 360 it's unbelievable, sounds amazing and looks fantastic," he said.

The original Far Cry was developed by German studio Crytek, and impressed the whole industry with its stunning graphics, remaining a benchmark for computers for quite a long time.

The second game, which appeared back in 2008, impressed through its realistic gameplay, with deteriorating weapons and vehicles or realistic fires that swept up the African location, but disappointed with its story.

With the third game, the team is trying a more back to basics approach, bringing the action back to a tropical island filled with mercenaries, while putting the players in the shoes of a regular guy who is trying to find his girlfriend.

The game is currently scheduled to appear next year, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
