Gabrielle Shrager, the story director working on ZombiU at Ubisoft, says that the multiplayer side of the shooter will take place in the St. George’s Yard of London and will offer new takes on one of the missions included in the single-player campaign.

The developer told the Official Nintendo Magazine that, “You’ve seen the Tower Of London gameplay footage by now, so you know we are going to have to breach the Traitor’s Gate and penetrate the depths of the Bloody Tower to find the Raven Of Dee’s Secret Bunker, but you’ve never heard of St George’s Yard.”

She adds, “St. George’s is our hell within hell. Survivors here are unwilling participants in a twisted game in which they are thrown to the infected.”

Shrager offers details on just one of the game modes that ZombiU players will be able to use in the upcoming game, called King of Zombies.

It will see players running around in an arena using the Wii U Pro Controller while only one of them gets chosen in order to use the new GamePad of the platform in order to choose where zombies are spawning and how they behave.

King of Zombies sounds like an interesting take on the asymmetric multiplayer that the Wii U can deploy by using the GamePad, which has an incorporated touch screen, and the various other attached controllers.

ZombiU is a reboot of a classic Ubisoft game and the developers at the Montpellier studio are eager to create an experience that becomes synonymous with the shooter genre on the new Wii U from Nintendo.

One of the core characteristics of the game will be a permanent death mechanics, which means that a player can die from a zombie’s single bite and that the player will have to select another in order to continue his campaign.
