Ubisoft's artists came up with the same ad Sam & Max has

I can understand some screenshots getting mixed up, maybe even a title or a description for a game, but a game's ad, getting mixed up is something else. What you see in the picture to the left (click to enlarge) are two ads for two different titles: Sam & Max and Rayman Raving Rabbids 2. Who is responsible for this?

Apparently Ubisoft did a poor job at researching ad themes and trying to avoid making one that looked strikingly similar to any ad available out there. The real question however is, how could they have not known about Sam & Max's ad, parodying War Of The Worlds?

Boy of Tomorrow posts this on GayGamer.net: "I'm not the only one seeing a distinct similarity between these two images, am I? Don't get me wrong, Rayman: Raving Rabbids is a fantastic title, but maybe someone should've done a little research on behalf of Ubisoft before they released the image on the right. It's not like they don't have any contact with the Sam & Max games, y'know, Telltale Games actually develops the C.S.I. titles for them."

If they were different planets, people might understand and forgive Ubisoft for their booboo, or if Ubisoft had mice instead of Rabbids, again something essential would have been different between the two, but we have the same planet (which is Earth - just in case you didn't notice) and we have the same pair of rabbit ears. More than that, the pair of fluffy hearing devices are also placed in the same manner - behind the half lit Earth, resembling the "rodent-menace." Can two ads get more similar than that?

Anyway, it probably won't affect them as much, but they'll have to change it, and fast. What, you don't reckon it's Telltale Games (Sam & Max developer) that has to change their ad, do you? They came up with it long before Ubisoft did with their "original" ad theme. I really shouldn't joke about it. Whoever came up with Ubisoft's ad surely worked hard to come up with an original design. Too bad it already existed...
