Though it has been selling in Europe for a while, the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (1018) entry-level mobile PC has decided to bring its Intel Atom central processing unit and DDR3 memory to the US, where it can now be purchased through its maker's own website.

Intel's Atom N550 central processing unit may be the one that has been getting more attention recently, compared to the others in its series, but makers of PCs are still keen on keeping a decent level of variety.

Thus, the PC supplier Dell built the configuration of the Inspiron Mini 1018 around the Atom N455, which has a clock speed of 1.66 GHz and support for DDR3 memory.

DDR3 support is one of the more recent assets of netbook processors and the reason why PC suppliers have so diligently created newer and stronger netbook models.

In the case of this particular computer, the N455 is backed up by 1GB of RAM and the GMA (Graphics Media Accelerator) 3150 integrated graphics.

The machine also comes with a hard disk drive of 160 GB or 250 GB, as well as the full range of connectivity and I/O options.

The list includes 10/100 LAN, Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, a 0.3 megapixel webcam and a 3-cell or 6-cell battery.

What's more, the laptop boasts a 10.1-inch display with a native resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels, plus a 92% sized keyboard.

As for software, the machine is pre-loaded with the Microsoft Windows 7 Starter operating system, though the company offers multiple other OS options.

Those interested in seeing the full list of specifications and all the available information on the device need only visit the page that Dell has already added to its official website.

Finally, should one be inclined towards actually buying a model, they will have to part with about $300.
