   US Sergeant pleads guilty to accessing US Army's Army Knowledge Online systems

29-year-old Ammie Brothers, a sergeant in the US Army, has pleaded guilty to one count of unauthorized access to information from a US Army computer system.

According to the US Department of Justice, Brothers admitted to accessing the Army Knowledge Online accounts of two individuals.

She initially gained access to the accounts by tricking the Army Knowledge Online help desk into giving her temporary passwords.

During a search of Brothers’ home, law enforcement discovered various documents containing information retrieved from the Army Knowledge Online system, including the social security number of a minor.

The sergeant also admitted to harassing the targeted individuals by phone, and illegally accessing one of the victims’ credit card accounts.

The sentencing is scheduled for October 24, 2013. Brothers faces up to 5 years in prison.
