US Airways has started notifying some customers that their Dividend Miles accounts have been compromised. It’s uncertain how, but it’s believed the attackers have gained access to usernames and passwords.

According to a notification letter spotted by eSecurity Planet on the website of the California Office of the Attorney General, names, addresses, email addresses, security question answers and, in some cases, dates of birth, last four digits of credit cards and Known Traveler numbers have been accessed.

Fortunately, the Dividend Miles accounts don’t contain social security numbers and passport numbers.

The passwords of all impacted customers have been reset. US Airways advises users to change their passphrases on other sites as well if the same one is utilized for multiple accounts.

Affected customers will be provided with one-year free membership for credit monitoring services provided by LifeLock.
