To celebrate the launch of the new international trailer for J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek Into Darkness,” Paramount has hidden a URL in the preview, unlocking new official artwork.

TrekMovie points out that different URLs were hidden in various localized versions, which means that various posters have been revealed; nonetheless, the differences between them are minor.

“Hidden URL Easter eggs in each of the new Star Trek Into Darkness international trailers leads to different bonus artwork,” the e-zine writes.

“According to Paramount these images are not the official international ‘one-sheet’ posters. Those have yet to be revealed (as has the Domestic one-sheet). These are being described as ‘special pieces of artwork revealed through the trailer launch’,” TrekMovie adds.

Just as I was about to complain that the artwork is too crowded and that I prefer the simple and more elegant posters they did for the 2009 original.

“Star Trek Into Darkness” will be out in May, so Paramount has plenty of time to release a bazillion posters.
