As we reported yesterday, National Infrastructure Security Coordination Center (NISCC) issued a report, announcing that UK IT infrastructure have been heavy attacks from hackers.

These attacks are based mainly on Trojans, which tries to infiltrate computer systems especially those used by the government institutions.

According to CIO Today experts from Sophos were called to analyze the situation and especially the Trojans.

Sophos noted that the final objective of the Trojans is to install a keylogger, Those kinf of program, called keyloggers, are used by hackers to obtain passwords or other sensitive information by recording the user's typo.

The most disturbing thing is that Sophos also reported one third of the Trojans are new versions not seen before.

CIO Today is reporting also that Carole Theriault, Sophos security consultant, said that the issue is a serious warning.

"Awareness has been raised, and, even better, many media reports here are talking about what people can do to protect themselves," she said. "I hope to God that people take it seriously and start protecting their machines."
