Over half of British households might be having a tablet these days but, when it comes to taking children to bed, traditional books still seem to be bedtime story norm.

According to a study commissioned by Talking Tots, 70% of parents in the UK still use good old books as opposed to electronic devices such as Kindles, iPads, or Nexus tablets when reading to their youngsters.

Only a meager 5% of parents will always use a device when tucking their kid in bed, with 24% doing it occasionally. The research included 1,500 parents of pre-school children.

Even if the results seem to indicate that traditional books are still appreciated by most parents, Talking Tots offers free downloadable games, designed to improve vocabulary and communication skills.

Tablets have been hailed as the game-changer for education, but 85% of parents believe that books can provide the same amount of stimulation as an e-Book.
