The ELSPA has released the UK video game sales charts for last week with Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days having a successful first week, climbing up to number one. Toy Story 3 also continues to impress with an unexpectedly good performance maintaining its second position and StarCraft II has fallen from the top 20.

While nobody in Shanghai seems to like Kane and Lynch, UK citizen seem to feel otherwise and have bought quite a lot of copies in the title's first week. Disney has proven that it can make money out of anything, including virtual toys.

Red Dead Redemption is continuing to do great, landing on three, while LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 holds on to its fourth position. Ubisoft's Just Dance has also managed to get back in the top five, giving a glimpse to the immense success Michael Jackson: The Experience is about to have.

Activision's StarCraft II and Modern Warfare 2 are on the fall, with the former disappearing from the top twenty and the latter falling no less than ten places to number 18.

Truth be told, Modern Warfare 2 has managed to become the best selling game in UK history after spending around nine months in the top ten.

Two Electronic Arts titles have had a resurgence in sales this, maybe because of Gamescom 2010. Mass Effect 2 has re-entered the charts at number 12, while Need for Speed: Shift has reappeared at number 15.

Madden NFL 11, EA Sport's latest release, has also gone down ten place to number 20, showing that American football is not so popular in Great Britain after all.

The biggest comeback of the week, however, is Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. The game managed to climb up no less than 11 place to number eight, after being in danger of falling off the chart.

Next week's number one, considering the mixed reviews Kane and Lynch 2 has received, is Mafia II, the return of one of the most popular games to ever come out on the PC.

This time around we have a multi-platform release, but after our experience with nVidia 3D Vision two weeks ago, we can tell that PC may still be the way to go for this title.
