Sadly, the Chinese will be the only lucky ones during the May 1 holiday period

There are special super-offers and there are teasers, and what will happen tomorrow in China is equal parts of both.

It will be A special super-offer because ultra high-definition TVs (4 K TVs with 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution) will sell for the same price as normal HD TVs.

And it will be a real tease because only Chinese citizens will benefit from the promotion, for a single day: May 1, 2013.

For example, TCL will ship its 55-inch UHD units for the equivalent of $1,620 / €1,238.

Obviously, this is not something that should be missed, and people would do well to check for deals from Skyworth as well.

I can only hope that brand vendors with supply channels in Europe and the US will find some opportunity to pull a similar stunt. I don't expect it of course, but I can hope.
