The same goes for eTP, tablet and smartphone and vehicle displays

Some say that ultra high-definition television sets (UHD TVs) won't really sell all that much this year, but there are those who disagree, like a certain manufacturer of panels.

According to AU Optronics, one of the bigger display producers out there, demand for panels used in UHD displays, notebook displays and screens found in tablets and smartphones will grow by year's end.

Or at least demand for its own such panels will rise.

Sony will account for 30% of the global UHD TV shipments this year, so it is especially active in this regard.

Meanwhile, demand for screens used in vehicle applications is on the rise as well. Cars have been getting more high-tech every month, despite the world's oil reserves slowly depleting. Electrical batteries and solar power should advance enough to compensate for that anyway.

Soon enough, all vehicles will have audio systems and maybe integrated tablets or PCs of some sort, so demand for special screens will probably go up for years.
