The hackers released a statement to reveal their reasons

After yesterday they declared war to the famous Jester (th3j3st3r), a few hours ago the UGNazi breached the popular imageboard website known as 4chan.org. During the time in which it was controlled by the hackers, all the site’s visitors were redirected to the group’s Twitter account.

“We are not sorry to all those who have been offended by this latest attack on 4chan. To those that are: have you lost your [expletive] mind?” UGNazi stated.

“Lulzsec targeted 4chan about a year ago and no one voiced their opposition. In fact, they stood with them. We have done it and there is massive [expletive]. How deep does the [expletive] run? Do you want to cry? Did we rustle your jimmies?”

Similar to the situations in which they attacked WHMCS, the hackers accuse 4chan.org of allowing shady individuals to share their “collections” of adult materials that feature children.

“For the people that just still can't seem to understand and are wiping away their tears as they read this: prove your age and maybe you will have a leg to stand on. Minors are allowed to access the site without their age actually being confirmed. You don't play by the rules, neither will we,” they added.

“To those who have requested this attack and even tried and failed themselves: you are welcome. We were the chemo that so many have requested to purge that cancerous site.”

On the other hand, they admit that there aren’t any “political motives” behind this particular breach. They claim that it has been done for "the lulz,” the fame, and to demonstrate that they have the skills to pull off such a hack.

Currently, the site appears to be functioning normally, but you can take a look at this video posted by UGNazi to demonstrate their actions:
