14 DAY TRIAL // UDR, Inc., a multifamily real estate investment trust, has announced its iOS apartment search application. Exclusively tailored for the Apple iPad, “Apartments by UDR” is available as a free download from the iTunes App Store, according to the company’s official report.
The software reportedly allows users to take advantage of several functions designed to make finding a UDR apartment easy and more convenient, one example being the ability to view GPS mapping and driving directions to any UDR apartment community. Similar to the company’s multiple smartphone “apartment-for-rent” search applications, the iPad Apartments by UDR application provides the following benefits for end users:
- Check real time apartment pricing - View a wide array of apartment photos, amenities and floor plans - View the availability of apartments for rent - Reserve and place on hold an apartment anytime and anyplace - View GPS mapping and driving directions to any UDR apartment community
As users would expect, UDR’s application takes advantage of the iPad’s large screen quite well. According to the company’s description, the left-side of the screen lists the locations where UDR operates properties. The right-side displays specific information about each apartment community, the company claims. This enables a particularly convenient navigation of the data on the iPad’s screen, UDR says.

UDR offers “apartment-for-rent” search applications for Blackberry, Palm Pre and Google Android phones, in addition to iOS devices. Apartments by UDR for iOS works with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and requires iOS 3.0 or later.
