UC Browser is one of the most popular mobile applications out there, and the latest data coming from the company appears set to confirm that.

UCWeb has announced over the weekend that its mobile browser had over 500 million active users during the last quarter, and that 300 million of them were on devices running under Android.

Moreover, the company has also unveiled that China and India are the markets where its application is the most popular, and that it sees strong adoption in a series of other key markets as well.

UC Browser comes to devices as a fast, easy to use, and feature-full application for Internet navigation and is aimed at connecting billions of users to the mobile web.

While celebrating the newly announced milestone, UCWeb has also announced that it is kicking off a new campaign that will include the release of a new UC Browser mascot and tagline.

Data coming from Chinese research firm iResearch also shows that UC Browser has managed to grab over 65 percent market share in China in 2013. The report is based on monthly active users owning both Android and iOS devices, the company unveils.

At the same time, info coming from StatCounter reveals that UC Browser has managed to grab 32 percent market share in the mobile browser category.

However, UC Web sees further growth potential on both markets, as around 80 percent of China’s 618 million Internet users are on mobiles, while the number of mobile web users in India is expected to increase beyond the 185 million mark by June 2014.

“Success in China and India has given UCWeb the experience and momentum to further expand globally,” the company notes.

“Within the past year, UC Browser has seen significant growth in several of the fastest growing countries in terms of internet usage - Russia, Indonesia, Vietnam and the United States. As of today, UC Browser has over 10% share of the mobile browser market in 10 countries around the world.”

As mentioned above, UC Web also has announced a new mascot for its mobile browser, aimed at better expressing the highly appealing, fast experience that the application can deliver to all users.

Moreover, the company notes that UC Browser is now aimed not only at providing users with a simple browsing tool, but also at offering a platform that will connect them to rich content and services, developed for users in various regions, in line with the new motto: A Fast All-in-One Web Experience.

The newly released train enquiry service in India is one example of UC Browser’s new mission. The feature was designed to provide people in the country with an easy, one-stop solution that allows them to check train status and to receive ticketing information.
