It’s not uncommon for women (or men, for that matter) to want to look like the stars we see on TV and in magazines every day. For some, this desire is taken even further, up to the point of undergoing plastic surgery to get at least one feature of their idol, such as Jennifer Lopez’s posterior, Brad Pitt’s nose, or Angelina Jolie’s lips. Two women in Tampa, Florida are now in critical condition just because of that, having suffered organ failure after being injected with what is supposed to have been industrial silicone.

Andrea Lee, 30, and her friend Zakiya Teagle, 33, wanted to have Jennifer Lopez’s posterior by all means. In order to get it, the two went to whom they believed was an accredited plastic surgeon, Sharhonda Lindsay, 32, and asked for some sort of filler or injection. What they did not know was that not only was Lindsay not a doctor, but she did not even have any experience in plastic surgery, so they were injected with pure industrial silicone, the police believes, and then basically left to die.

One of the victims received 40 shots to the buttocks in a 90-minute interval, while the other about 20. Naturally, they were told that they were being injected with a miracle gel that would make their backside as firm and round as Jennifer’s, a “Hydrogel” that reportedly does not even exist. Within hours, police says, they started feeling ill and had to be rushed to the hospital.

Lee suffered multiple organ failure, and is now fighting for her life, as her grieving mother has told the media just recently. Her friend, Zakiya, has also suffered liver failure, but is now reportedly in a more stable condition. Lindsay, the fake doctor who willingly put the two women at such great risk, is nowhere to be found, and is supposedly on the run from authorities.

Speaking of which, the police is now urging anyone else in Tampa who might have had contact with the fake doctor or been “treated” by her to come forward to prevent further tragedies such as this one from happening.
