Two Tribes, the Dutch game developer behind "Worms World Party" for the Nokia N-Gage and Capcom's "Toki Tori", today announces that it has commenced development on "Garfield's A Tail of Two Kitties" for the Nintendo DS portable videogame system. "Garfield's A Tail of Two Kitties" sees our favorite feline hunting for lasagna in this platform game for the Nintendo DS.

"An important consideration for the game design of this game has been to stay as true to the Garfield movies as possible in both look and feel." says Collin van Ginkel, Creative Director at Two Tribes. "Both screens and the built-in microphone will be used to enhance gameplay and to ensure a fresh game experience."

"Garfield's A Tail of Two Kitties" is a platform game which uses 3D graphics, while the gameplay will be a combination of 2D and 3D elements. The game is designed for all ages. "Our target audience is people who know Garfield from the comics as well as a generally younger audience that got introduced to Garfield by the first movie." says Martijn Reuvers, Managing Director at Two Tribes. "This, combined with the wide appeal of the Nintendo DS, means we will cater for both young and old when creating this game. We therefore chose for an accessible game design with hidden depth for the more experienced players."

"Garfield's A Tail of Two Kitties" will be developed for Octagon Entertainment and published by The Game Factory. The release of "Garfield's A Tail of Two Kitties" for the Nintendo DS will coincide with the release of the second Garfield movie, which is scheduled to be released this year.
