"There’s an app for just about anything, only on the iPhone"

Apple has started airing two new TV ads emphasizing the wireless capabilities of the iPhone, but also its ability to show you exactly where you are and get directions anywhere in the world. Naturally, Apple’s elusive device carries out these tasks using third-party apps that the company lauds in its iPhone commercials.

This time around, apps like Mover, Bump, and Scrabble are mentioned in the company’s latest TV spot titled “Share.” While Mover allows for two iPhone owners to instantly share files with as little as a flick of the finger, Bump lets users literally bump their hands while holding the device to immediately share contacts and other stuff. Electronic Arts’ Scrabble also has wireless capabilities on the iPhone, allowing them to go head to head with friends over Wi-Fi.

“Travel,” the second new TV ad from Apple, touts apps like Paris Walk, Paris (Tube) and Postman as being the perfect companions for those who take a trip to Paris. The trio will aid them in determining where they are and were they’re heading, see the Subway map, learn the routes, and ultimately send colorful, custom postcards to their friends and family right from the device.

Apple has aired over a dozen iPhone ads touting the device as being extremely helpful in just about any situation one may find him/herself in – “There’s an app for that too.” The latest ads also emphasize iPhone 3G S-specific features, such as the orientation capability via the built-in digital compass. ParisWalk is one such app that uses the extra hardware found inside Apple’s latest iPhone model.
