The new handsets should hit the market in the near future

According to the latest news on the Web, new entry-level handsets managed to pass through FCC, and they seem to be the Samsung E2100 and the LG GB250. The handsets are expected to become available on the market in the near future, at least that is what the reports suggest.

As many of you might already know, the Samsung E2100 has been already launched on the Russian market, along with several other devices, including the Samsung E1125, Samsung E1070 and Samsung E1100. This candybar phone made it to the news before the Mobile World Congress as well, as they were expected to be showcased at the big show in Barcelona along with the rest of the phones the Korean company brought with it.

The specification list of the Samsung E2100 shows the device as featuring a 1,7-inch TFT color display capable of delivering a 128 x 160 pixel resolution, as well as a 1.3MP camera, 10MB of on-board memory, FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, USB 2.0, as well as microSD memory card slot. The device also features GPRS, EDGE, MP3 player and support for GSM 900 / 1800 frequencies. It measures 108 x 43 x 14 mm and weighs 96g.

The second device to pass FCC tests is the entry-level LG GB250. This handset comes with support for GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900, as well as HSDPA 2100. The clamshell comes with a 176 x 220 pixel TFT with support for 262K colors, and also sports a secondary 96 x 64 pixel display.

The device comes with 1GB of internal memory complemented by a microSD memory card slot that supports up to 4GB of additional storage space. Other specs of the handset include Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, 1.3-megapixel camera, MP3 player, as well as a Li-Ion 800 mAh battery. The LG GB250 measures 97.6 x 48.8 x 16.9 mm.
