South Korean-based mobile phone maker LG Electronics, one of the leading handset vendors in the world, is among the first companies to launch on the market new devices running under Microsoft's upcoming Windows Phone 7 operating system. We already had the chance to take a look at one prototype device from the company, namely the LG Panther, which was users for demonstrating the capabilities of Windows Phone 7 ever since the official unveiling in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but it seems that more such devices are under development in the company's labs.

LG is one of Microsoft's key partners in the mobile space, and the fact that it is working on more devices powered by Windows Phone 7 does not come as a surprise. There are great chances that LG would actually aim at releasing more handsets powered by Microsoft's upcoming mobile operating system, but no specific details on the matter are available for the time being.

The newly spotted LG Windows Phone 7 devices would sport the codenames of LG E900 and LG C900, a recent article on WMPoweruser states. The handsets emerged in the company’s browser XML database, and are said to pack the new IE7 browser of Windows Phone 7. both mobile phones are expected to arrive on the market with GSM and HSDPA connectivity options, while sporting candybar for factors and no keyboards (only touchscreen display). The handsets can be seen here and here, for LG E900 and LG C900, respectively.

These are the only pieces of information the user agent strings brought to light on the LG E900 and LG C900. It still remains to be seen what hardware specifications the two handsets would come to the market with, as well as the markets in which LG plans on making them available. We should also wait and see whether the handset vendor would plan on including the two phones in the just launched Optimus Series, as it promised the Optimus handsets would run under various operating systems, and Windows Phone 7 would most probably be one of them.
