Twitter user, Safiyyah Nawaz, thought it would be a good idea to post an uninspired joke on the social networking website, without being aware of the repercussions that could bring and not even thinking about starting a viral thread of tweets asking her to “kill yourself.”

On January 1, the teen posted “this beautiful earth is now officially 2014 years old, amazing” leading to thousands of retweets and comments bashing her ignorance. Users sharing the teen's post were outraged and started describing her as “dumb,” “stupid,” “ignorant,” creating her own hashtag with the label dumb, of course.

As if this array of insults wasn't enough, Safiyyah started receiving messages from people telling her to kill herself for embarrassing the human kind. Racists comments were all over her Twitter page, and even if she admits to panicking for moment, she decided to laugh it off with hilarious posts.

At the racist accusations posts, she replied “so far I have seen stop Mexican girls, stop black girls and stop Indian girls, hahahah You're all wrong, #RACIALLYAMBIGUOUS,” and then added “I's like to take this opportunity to announce that I'm running for presidency in the year 2036, hopefully with snoop lion as my vp.”

Eventually, she decided to state it as clear as she could that everything was just a joke and that she knew the Earth is not turning 2014 years. Having a hard time getting her message through, she changed her Twitter bio into “I get it the Earth is approx 4.54 billion years old it was a joke.”

Having enough laughs for one day, the teen decided to use the newly acquired attention from her Twitter page for better purposes and started posting about websites focused on helping people in Syria and green energy. She then commented on the horrible thing suicide is and that she would never do that, not even if the whole world told her to.

What started as a dumb joke turned into a viral thread turning the teen into an Internet sensation in just a few hours. After all the tweets and comments, she hilariously thanked Obama for the opportunity, like everyone does these days.
