An Anonymous-affiliated group called Colombian Hackers has hijacked the official Twitter account of Francisco Estupiñan (@FcoEstupinan), the current Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Colombia.
“Somebody remind @JuanManSantos he's the [expletive] President of this country,” the hackers tweeted from the compromised account.
“Better help farmers, and actually do something for this country,” the hackers tweeted to the country’s president and the official account of the Colombian Police.
The hacktivists have also changed the account’s profile pictures.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued a statement to clarify that the tweets have not been published by the minister. An investigation has been launched.
“The agriculture minister expressed his outrage over this situation which is being investigated by the competent authorities,” representatives of the ministry stated.
Currently, the Twitter account still appears to be controlled by the hackers.
