The Twitter account of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela has also been hijacked

The official Twitter account of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro (@NicolasMaduro) and the one of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (@PartidoPSUV) have been hacked by the members of the LulzSec Peru hacktivist collective.

In addition, the hackers also claim to have defaced Maduro’s official blog which, at the time of writing, appeared to be offline.

Nicolas Maduro was named Venezuela’s interim president on April 14, 2013, shortly after the death of Hugo Chavez.

According to Reuters, he won Sunday’s election against Henrique Capriles, so he will remain Venezuela’s president.

Currently, both Twitter accounts still seem to be controlled by the hacktivists.

As some of you might remember, this is not the first time when LulzSec Peru hijacks the Twitter account of the PSUV. The same account was also compromised in November 2012. However, it appears that the ones in charge of the account haven’t learned their lesson.
