On Friday, the Twitter account of Marc Vandermeer (@TexansVoice), the director of broadcasting for the Houston Texans, was hacked. The hacker published a tweet which said Texans quarterback Matt Schaub had been traded to Cleavland Browns.

“Texans have traded QB Matt Schaub to Cleveland Browns for WR Josh Gordon and a 3rd round pick in 2014 NFL Draft,” the tweet posted by the hacker read.

Later, Vandermeer removed the message and confirmed that his account had been hacked.

“I've been hacked. No trade. Sorry for the craziness,” he wrote.

Vandermeer celebrated his birthday on Friday. He learned about the hack from a colleague.

“It’s kinda disturbing, really. It feels awful because people’s lives are involved. My Facebook account was hacked once, but that was by somebody trying to sell something and I was the only one affected. Now it’s other people’s lives and whatever, and it feels awful. I’m just glad the truth is out and that it’s over,” the voice of the Texans told UltimateTexans.com.
