Twi-hards have good reason to rejoice if the thought that, come 2012, they would see the last of their favorite “Twilight” characters onscreen. Summit Entertainment is thinking of making another movie after “Breaking Dawn.”

As fans must already know, “Twilight” is based on the 4 original books of Stephenie Meyer. The fourth novel is divided into two parts for the silver screen adaptation, much like “Harry Potter.”

However, Meyer has also been coming up with fresh material since she finished the “Twilight” books, namely a novella that can be considered a spinoff of “Eclipse.”

“The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner” is the fifth book, which tells the story of newborn vampire Bree and presents the Cullen world as seen through her eyes.

It could be turned into a movie as well, reports cited by Cinematical say, which means Summit Entertainment will expand the “Twilight” franchise from five to six films, well into 2013.

Summit is already working on making this happen; that is, laying out all the plans and securing the actors to reprise their parts.

“There’s already a rumor going around about a big screen adaptation of the Twilight novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner in the works at Summit,” Cinematical writes.

Apparently, an e-mail from an insider has been making the rounds, saying that, right now, chances are good the novella will also be turned into a film.

“It goes without saying Summit want to continue this franchise... Tanner is the one they’re looking at post-Breaking Dawn...” the e-mail reads.

“It’s too early to talk casting, and everything we’re hearing is just speculation or off a wish list, but I don’t believe they plan on using the original actress, Jodelle Ferland, for the spin-off film. It’s all about numbers and names – you guys know that,” the insider says in the same e-mail.

According to the same source, the names that are now being thrown in for consideration for Bree’s part are Chloe Moretz (“Let Me In”) and Dakota Fanning’s sister, Elle.

While this report is miles away to confirmation (to put it this way), many are those who are already saying online that Summit would be dumb not to do another “Twilight” film if the opportunity presented itself.

Of course, there’s a big “if” to consider: it has to be done right, otherwise fans will not want to see it.
