14 DAY TRIAL // Two Android applications have just been updated, packing a nice range of enhancements and fixes for their users, including the TweetDeck Beta and LauncherPro, the former now available in version 0.9.8, while the latter has just reached version 0.7.8.1. Android TweetDeck Beta v0.9.8 comes with a series of new features, while also including some performance improvements, its developers announced.
The changelog for the new release includes:
- New "Quick post" widget - New "Column" widget - New "Quick launch bar" widget - All new Add Column interface - Fixed various bugs and improved performance

As for the new LauncherPro v0.7.8.1, the release is mainly aimed at fixing a series of issues in the application, including a bug that affected a feature of the solution enabling users to use custom icons and labels on homescreen shortcuts.
Basically, the problem was that, when adding applications shortcuts, users had to choose custom icons, or the icon for the shortcut would not appear next time the launcher was started. The issue was resolved in the new release.
The release notes for LauncherPro v0.7.8.1 include: - Fixed a problem with the Twitter widget putting some mentions in the timeline view instead of the mentions view. - New: Facebook Widget. It took a lot of work but the new Facebook widget is ready. It works very similarly to the Twitter widget. There are two views: news feed and wall. You can switch between the two views with the buttons at the top, or use the “Compose” button to create a new post.
According to the app's dev, the next widget should come with Twitter and Facebook updates into one stream, and more would come later: “After that I have a very cool new feature planned for Plus users, along with some new stuff for all users.”
