That shooter / sci-fi game called Titanfall will be launched on March 11, 2013, and Turtle Beach has released a headset that will commemorate the occasion.

The headphone set is called Ear Force Titanfall Atlas and is described as “the first headset to market that features out-of-the-box cross-platform compatibility with Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC and mobile platforms.”

In all honesty, that's a strange description, since audio products tend to work with anything as long as the jack is the right size (3.5 mm).

Then again, it did happen that I tried to use the headphones of a smartphone with one from a different brand and got a weird rattling noise mixed with the sound for my trouble.

Anyway, the Turtle Beach Ear Force Titanfall Atlas has a padded headband, mesh ear cups that can lay flat on your shoulders during a break, and a 3.5 mm cable for use with mobile devices. There's a detachable boom microphone too.

50 mm neodymium speaker drivers actually produce the sound.

Turtle Beach will start to ship the Ear Force Titanfall Atlas from March 5 onwards, for $149.95, which is about the same as €110 according to exchange rates, such as they were at the time of this article's writing.
