Cycling computers are not exactly a hot novelty, since they've been around for quite some time now, but they're quite popular, and this is exactly the reason why Velocomp has come up with a way of actually turning one's iPhone or iPod touch into exactly such a device.

The product in question is called the iBike Dash CC (the last two letters stand for Cycling Computer) and will offer users a huge range of functions and features, acting, for all intends and purposes, as a personal trainer.

The device itself, also known as the “Phone Booth" dashboard/case, houses circuitry, as well as one's iPhone or iPod touch, and for this reason, it's also shock and waterproof.

As you might have guessed, its actual features are available via an app that can be downloaded from the App store, while the device also enables riders to take full advantage of some of the iPhone or iPod touch's built-in navigation features.

What the iBike Dash CC brings to the mix is the possibility to turn the aforementioned iOS devices into personal trainers, providing valuable information regarding the level of effort one will have to put in their ride in order to obtain optimum results, whether the user wishes to lose some weight, build some muscle mass, etc.

Furthermore, in order to provide users with an even better overview of their workout, the device is compatible with all ANT+ speed, cadence and HR sensors out there, while also offering a calendar feature, that can provide one with useful input on cycling stats, burnt calories, etc.

As expected, such a product doesn't really come cheap, the basic versions of the iBike Dash CC being available at a MSRP of around $199, while the advanced version (featuring the cadence and HR sensors, calorie measurement, etc,) retailing for $329.
