With some help from Pega

Nintendo's Wii is undoubtedly the most successful of the three next-generation gaming consoles, as it has recorded booming sales since its launch last year, and there are still shortages around the world. And since there's nothing that draws the manufacturer's attention like a successful product, the number of accessories developed for the console has skyrocketed during the past few months, ranging from all sorts of weird controllers for the Wiimote to....an external portable screen attachment.

Thus, as the people from MaxConsole report, an Asian company called Pega, which specializes in the development of various accessories for gaming consoles, has recently launched the PG-Wi, an external display that can be connected to Nintendo's console, thus allowing the users to play a game of tennis or RedSteel while on the go.

Of course, we're not talking about any technological breakthroughs here. Thus, according to the people from MaxConsole, the add-on screen boasts a viewing area of 7 inches, but upon making some inquiries, we've discovered that the device is also available in an 8.5-inch version. The device also sports a keystroke control for volume and color adjustment and the display is quite flexible, since it can be turned in 4 directions in order to adjust the visual angle.

There's little to no information regarding the possible price and availability of the external attachment for the Wii, but it seems that the manufacturers are looking for someone to import it overseas. Whether their endeavor will have any success or not is a whole different problem, since this attachment for the Wii, even if it seems to be quite an interesting device, it's rather useless, if you ask me. After all, as just about everyone who had the chance to "fool around" with a Wii knows that one vital requirement for enjoying a complete and comprehensive gaming experience is to have a widescreen TV, a lot wider than just 8.5 inches.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
