Yesterday, Parliant Corp. announced that the new version of its PhoneValet Message Center software for the Mac, 5.0, starts shipping. The PhoneValet software and hardware platform is designed to serve the small office, home and home office, turning your Mac into a virtual call center that allows you to harness unlimited voice mail boxes, call blocking, recording, logging and screening, as well as automated dialing and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) capabilities, and you should know that it works with single or multiple phone lines.

According to Parliant, PhoneValet 5.0 comes with the following major enhancements - call trees, call completion technology, advanced Address Book integration and voice mail overrides.

The first one helps you organize your activity and gain time, guiding a caller exactly to the person or department he or she needs to speak to in a snap.

The call completion patent-pending technology enables callers that reach voice mail to pick the person or department they need, being an automated attendant for your existing lines without rewiring!

The Address Book integration feature enables PhoneValet to look up callers in your Address Book for customized announcements, call logging and voice dialing, but if you are using a shared computer, then it's better to use the old Phonebook of this program.

At last, the voice mail overrides allow you to setup a completely different set of voicemail messages and choices, selected by time of day and/or by line, treat callers differently on your home or business lines, as well as play special announcements after hours and during lunch.

The price of this useful hardware and software platform is 169.95$, and you can get browser-based remote control for showing lines status and record from remote PCs and Macs connected via PhoneValet Anywhere for an extra 59.95$. If you're going to visit Macworld, then you should know that Parliant can be found at booth S1912.
