Katherine Russell is requesting the remains of her husband, alleged Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, in order to arrange a burial.

"It is Katherine Russell's wish that his remains be released to the Tsarnaev family, and we will communicate her wishes to the proper authorities," her attorney Amato DeLuca says.

Russel has contacted Massachusetts Medical Examiner’s Office in order to make arrangements for authorities to release the body, NBC relays.

As reported, a mosque in Boston has already refused making the proceedings to enter Tsarnaev, citing their disapproval of his implication in acts of terror.

Meanwhile, Russell has been contacted by the FBI for a sample of her DNA, which they intend to match to traces found on one of the Marathon bombs.

Since female DNA was recovered on the explosives, conspiracy theories are running amok on social media.
