14 DAY TRIAL // Kalypso has just announced a new Tropico 5 DLC will be available for purchase later today. The new “Surf’s Up!” DLC will drop on PC, Mac and SteamOS via Valve’s digital distribution store.
Players who already own Tropico 5 base game and want to grab Surf’s Up! as well will only have to pay £2.49 / 2.99 / $3.99. Why the low price? Because the new DLC only brings an original scenario into the mix, along with a new building, avatar accessory, sandbox map and music track.
In Surf’s Up!, players will have to gain the favor of the dolphins by building the Dolphinarium, “look like a real professional with the marine biologist outfit and conquer the new Qualichi island in sandbox mode.”
The new Dolphinarium building will allow players to attract more tourists in their country. The new dynasty avatar accessory included in the DLC is called The Diving Mask, and will make players look like professional marine biologists. New music tracks and additional voice recordings will be included in the new Tropico 5 Surf’s Up! DLC.
This is the first DLC for Tropico 5 that gets released in 2015
Surf’s Up! is the first DLC for Tropico 5 launched in 2015. In early December, Kalypso released an important expansion called “Waterborne,” which added a lot more content, hence the much higher price.
Unlike the new DLC that will arrive on Steam today, Waterborne added Tropico 5 a brand new campaign, not just one scenario. In addition, the expansion also brought 9 new off-shore buildings and vehicles, as well as 4 new island maps.
Tropico 5 – Waterborne also added 4 new music tracks, 2 new avatars costumes, 6 new avatar accessories and new sandbox tasks.
On a side note, Tropico 5 fans that do not use Steam may still purchase the Surf’s Up! DLC for the same amount mentioned earlier, via Kalypso’s official website. Do you plan on getting this one when it drops on Steam later today?
