Defend your ship while attacking the other team

First off all, let’s make an idea what TTW is all about. Tropical Tower Wars (or TTW) is a custom map made for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. It is based on the idea of being a Tower Defense (you will have to stop creeps getting from one point to another by building towers to kill them), but with a twist: creeps will not automatically spawn as in normal TD games. They are spawned at the cost of each player in the game, so you have to spend money to earn money.

The map was first created by "Wize" and is now managed by the TTW Team (Stefanov, Apoptose and Atrum Amicus).

The players start on a 6-rowed map. There are two teams with three players each (3v3). Each team has a ship on the top, and the main goal is to protect the ship from incoming enemies by building towers on their areas, while sending creeps from a shrine to attack the opponent's ship.

There are two defenders, one on each side of every team and one goalie that must stop the creeps who evade the defenders. Each player will be restricted in their own region (building as well as moving). Each team starts with 30 lives and will lose one if a creep reaches the ship.

Let’s talk about the gameplay a little bit. It is highly advisable that players should build mazes so that creeps pass between towers and are forced to slow and bunch as they go around corners. You have to make sure that you leave some passages because if you don’t, the enemies will explode, which will destroy the towers in the blown up area.

In standard games, most races have an initial population limit of 35 towers, after which you must make a “population” building in order to increase this limit to 60. Certain towers can be upgraded to other towers, or they may possess an inventory where you can add items. Before you play an Online game, you should experiment with most (if not all) builder races.

Players will receive income based on the type of creeps they send, as well as the quantity sent so far. Killing opponent creeps will also earn you a small amount of gold. After you have sent 30, 60, 120 or 200 creeps, you will automatically receive a bonus of 4,8,12 or 20 gold every 4 seconds. So, send as many creeps as you can and do it early in the game!

Every player will have three buildings that can be used: - The Shrine, which will provide you with various creeps that can be trained; you will have to upgrade this building as the game progresses - The Boss Shrine, which is similar to the Shrine, but provides various bosses - The Tropical Vault, which has some useful abilities (like reveal).

There are several game modes that only the host can choose: - ar (All Random – the players will receive a randomly assigned race) - arm (All Random Mirror – all players receive randomly assigned races; however, they are mirrored vertically with the opposing team) - fs (Full Sight – all players get full sight of the map 100% of the time) - exf (Extended Food – this mod is usable in a 1v1 match, Red vs Purple) - training (Training Mod – this should be used for trying races and learning how to maze in a player vs computer match).

The game is won by the team that is able to kill all the other team’s lives.

In order to play this map on the Battlenet, you will need the .122a Patch and Tropical Tower Wars map into your Maps/Downloads folder. So, get TTW now, place a few towers, and begin sending creeps to attack the opposing team.
