As many of you already know, phones that are able to support two SIM cards at the same time have become quite popular lately, especially in Europe and Asia. And you should agree with the fact that they come in really handy, as there is no need to carry around two handsets instead of only one so that you can have both the work and the personal phone with you.

What we learn now is that QiiQ EcoCarrier Inc is working on a handset that would be able to function with three SIM cards at the same time. Undoubtedly, dual-SIM phones sound like a nice thing, and there is also a high demand for them, yet triple-SIM devices might not be as popular as one would expect.

According to UnwiredView, the mobile phone we're talking about won't have all the SIM cards active at the same time, but only two of them. This means that the owners of the phone will have to choose which number they won't need to use and deactivate it. For what it's worth, one would still carry around three phone numbers inside the same device, although only two of them would be available for use.

Among the specifications of the triple-SIM mobile phone, we can mention the triple (900/1800/1900) and dual (900/1800) GSM connectivity, as well as a 2-megapixel camera, a 2.4-inch QVGA display (2.6” touchpanel), and a 2000 mAh battery, yet there are not many other details about what further functionalities the said device would include.

And when it comes to its looks, the photo that is available at the moment is not too clear, and although we can make an idea about the shape of the device, it's rather difficult to actually spot specific particulars. Hopefully, more details on the triple-SIM handset will soon be available, as well as some better quality images with the device.
