Trillian for Android, the already popular mobile application coming from Cerulean Studios, has been updated to version 1.1, and is now available for download for free from the Android Market.

The new flavor of the application comes with a wide range of fixes included into the mix, the development team notes in a recent blog post.

The software includes enhancements to the networking engine, which should result in fewer disconnects, and also enables users to interface with existing chat windows easier even when the network connection is lost.

The greatest news of regarding this new flavor of Trillian for Android is the fact that it was made available for free for all users.

“We’re pleased to announce that Trillian for Android is our first mobile application to go free, so head on over to the Android Market on your phone to get your copy,” the company notes on the said blog post.

“If you’ve already purchased Trillian for Android in the past, your account has been automatically upgraded to ad-free status. You purchased an ad-free client with free upgrades and you will continue to receive an ad-free client with free upgrades.”

At the same time, the company notes that users would be able to get the free status of the app on more than just one mobile platform.

When moving to mobile OSes like iPhone or BlackBerry, users would be able to enjoy the application for free there as well, as if they bought the app for those platforms too.

“Of course, if you’re a Trillian Pro customer you can also take advantage of an ad-free experience everywhere, with the additional perk of cloud history. If you notice any bugs here please send us an email and we’ll investigate right away,” the company continues.

At the same time, they announced that a new flavor of Trillian for Android is in the works, and that users would enjoy a range of popular features with it, along with enhancements brought to the user interface, and more.
