14 DAY TRIAL // RedLynx and Microsoft announced that their latest Trials Evolution title has broken a sales record in the console's Xbox Live Arcade service, becoming the highest-grossing title ever in terms of day-one sales.
Trials Evolution has been awaited by many people after its predecessor, Trials HD, became extremely popular on the Xbox 360 platform thanks to its addictive gameplay, which saw players guide a biker through various obstacle courses and physics puzzles.
Seeing how the new title promised even more features, alongside an even wider variety of tracks, developer RedLynx was expecting a pretty big response from customers.
Now, according to Microsoft, Trials Evolution was more than successful, as it broke a sales record on the Xbox Live Arcade, becoming the highest grossing title in terms of day-one transactions.
“With the launch of Trials Evolution, the sequel to the breakout XBLA success Trials HD and the first title released in the Microsoft Studios Presents: Arcade Next program, publisher Microsoft Studios is proud to announce that after the first 24 hours of sales, Trials Evolution has set a record for the highest grossing day-one sales in Xbox LIVE Arcade history,” the company said.
According to Microsoft, the game, which delivered “high-octane physics-based racing across a variety of track types and environments, as well as an all-new multiplayer experience and a track editor that will continue to deliver fresh content from the community far into the future,” has amazed lots of people.
This popularity was apparent right from the get-go, as the big number of players caused some technical issues with the game’s leaderboard functionality. Thankfully, Microsoft acted quickly and supplemented the number of servers in order to cope with the demand.
