Here’s one more reason to look forward to David Fincher’s take on the best-selling novel “Gone Girl,” which will be out in theaters in October this year: it will boast a score by none other than Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

The news is confirmed by Reznor himself, who posted on his Twitter that “yes, Atticus and I are scoring David Fincher’s upcoming Gone Girl!” He needn’t have offered more details for his fans to go completely crazy (in the best sense possible).

They have every reason to be psyched: not only is “Gone Girl,” the Gillian Flynn novel, excellent source material, but it will probably translate into a brilliant film in Fincher’s skilled hand as well.

Moreover, Fincher has worked with Reznro and Ross before and, on both occasions, the results were remarkable: they scored “The Social Network,” for which they even won an Oscar, and “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”

“Gone Girl” stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Emily Ratajkowski, and Neil Patrick Harris.
