78% of the people surveyed didn't agree with the use of cellphones during flight

According to a recently published survey made by TripAdvisor, a travel website, 78% of the plane travelers reject the idea of using a mobile phone during flights. Almost 2500 international travelers attended the survey and agreed to answer this question, which is more than enough to say that it's pretty relevant globally. The fact that most of the people prefer to travel safe even if there weren't any plane crashes caused by a mobile phone, suggests the more accidents occur the more paranoid we become.

Does anyone know why mobile phones are officially banned? Well, it seems that mobile phones could interfere with the planes' electronics or with cell towers placed on the ground, but did anyone bother to prove it? It seems that Federal Communications Commission and Federal Aviation Administration are afraid to lift the ban and after a few days, a bunch of planes crashed because of their decision.

Furthermore, cellphone carriers simply don't want to be put in the situation of upgrading their cell towers for a better communication with flying planes. The ordinary man simply doesn't want to sit near a teen mobile phone freak which talks 24/7 on his cellular. Everyone who flied knows the stress that the passengers have to put with, especially with those terrorists attacks that seem to never end.

It is highly possible that since the cellphones became a reality, at least one traveler forgot to turn off his mobile phone, and yet there were no crashes because of this.

Thumbs up for those 78%, even if it's just to limit the stress of traveling by plane, if not for the technical reasons (which again haven't been officially proved yet). In the end, a consensus between all parties (FCC, FAA, cellphone carriers and passengers) involved seems to be the right solution.
