The chassis maker is waiting for consumer ideas of what it should add

Compared to other case makers, Lian Li is a relatively young company, having only been around for a few years. However, in those years, it has managed to rack up quite a reputation, thanks to its habit of challenging the limits of the normal. The DK01 desk case illustrates this clearly.

The chassis is not really complete yet. Or at least it hasn't reached the final draft that Lian Li expects to sell to the public.

Instead, it is waiting for potential customers to say what it should add or remove, or modify about it. Hopefully, it won't take more than a few months of Q&A for a final frame to be reached.

The case is essentially a desktop chassis that doubles as a desk, thanks to the two large, rectangular feet on the sides.

The case is placed horizontally and has a transparent top cover made of glass, allowing for a clear view of your hardware (and the dust that accumulates in there over time, with or without air filters).

For those who want the technical details as they are right now, the Lian Li DK01 is large enough for even the largest mainboards out there, like EATX, XL-ATX, and ATX form factors.

It measures 31.5 x 31.3 x 23.6 inches / 800 x 795 x 599 mm and has enough room for fourteen storage drives (3.5/2.5-inch HDDs/SSDs/SSHDs/HHDs) and also seven 120 mm fans.

What's more, the interior easily accommodates video cards up to 11 inches in length (279 mm) and power supplies of similar size. Moving on, the CPU cooler can be up to 7.1 inches / 180 mm tall.

Furthermore, liquid-cooled radiators of 240 mm – 360 mm on one or both sides of the chassis can be installed.

All in all, there's lots of space, and since this thing is supposed to be the size of a normal office or home desk, the same can be said about the top surface.

Finally, the prototype, as it stands, boasts four USB 3.0 ports and HD connectors, plus a bunch of LEDs. At this point, there's no telling how much the finished product will cost.
