We're pretty sure that many of you simply love those large, metallic pinball machines installed in arcades and game centers just about anywhere around the world, for quite a lot of people these things actually representing the first contact with the concept of “gaming”.

Sadly, modern technology has sort of “corrupted” this segment as well, with numerous pinball games being released over the years, none of which, however, are able to mimic the feeling delivered by a real pinball machine.

And now, it seems that the people over at NewPotatoTechnologies have come up with an interesting accessory called Magic Pinball that's capable of turning none other than Apple's famous iPad tablet into a very realistic pinball device, complete with a physical plunger for sending up the virtual ball and paddle buttons for operating the flippers.

As we pretty much expected, this is not the company's first foray into this rather niche market segment, OhGizmo reports, New Potato Technologies having a whole lineup of accessories that turn the iPhone into various gaming machines (mostly related to gambling, however), including a Magic Pinball too.

Nevertheless, given the fact that the iPad delivers much more screen space, the level of realism should be somewhat improved (no word on whether force feedback is provided as well, but that's probably the case).

Beside the components mentioned above, the accessory also sports a couple of light-up features on the top side, in order to make the whole experience a bit cooler.

Naturally, one will have to download an appropriate app in order to play a nice game of pinball on your iPad, although the fact that the Magic Pinball accessory costs around 80 US dollars and that you can't rough it up a bit (the way you'd do a real-life pinball machine) might deter customers a bit.
