With Flash storage getting more and more popular and widespread, it is not surprising to hear that more SSDs, in this case from Transcend, have made their way to the market, especially when they have one of newest and fastest connectivity capabilities in the industry.

Transcend has been dealing in various types of storage devices for a long time, so of course it has been staying up to date in terms of technological assets.

What this means is that, like its rivals, it has been offering newer and better devices on a regular basis.

That said, it was not long ago that a certain product, which the outfit announced previously, was listed as available for pre-order in Europe, at least according to reports.

The device in question is known as SSD18C3 and is, basically, a portable solid state drive designed with the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface.

Granted, one might says that this is a product line in itself, since there are two versions, one with a capacity of 64 GB and the other with 128 GB.

As is the case with so many other NAND Flash-based storage solutions, the one with the larger capacity is also faster.

More specifically, the 128 GB one has read and write speeds of 260 MB/s and 200 MB/s, respectively, while the 64 GB one reaches 260 MB/s and 110 MB/s tops.

In all other respects, the siblings are identical, with a MTBF of 1 million hours and a size of 98.7 x 65.7 x 17.45mm, plus the auto-backup One Touch function.

Anyone wishing to get a direct look at all available information need only drop by the official product page, located here.

Those that are thinking of acquiring a SSD may already set pre-orders in Europe and, once they finally get their purchase, will have a warranty of three years on it.
