Transcend may have just updated its solid state drive lineup, but it seems to be advancing its HDD collection at the same time, or at least increasing it, by adding new drives, this once an addition to the StoreJet series.

By upgrading its solid state drives with new controller chips, Transcend made sure it was ready to push forward in its ongoing struggle to secure a bigger market share.

Meanwhile, seemingly as a means to complement its activity on the Flash storage market, the outfit has prepared another storage device, one that can be classified as a hard disk drive.

Going for the external storage market in this instance, the company added the StoreJet 35T3, which uses the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface.

For those that want a reminder, the USB 3.0 connection is the latest and fastest incarnation of the Universal Serial Bus standard and has a theoretical maximum transfer rate of roughly 5 Gbps.

The StoreJet 35T3 works at a platter speed of 7,200 RPM (rotations per minute) and has a buffer memory of 32 MB.

At its best, it can perform at 130 MB/s, meaning that whatever files are stored on it can easily be accessed or copied, and that data can be copied easily from the PC as well.

Also, via the One Touch auto-backup button, the system can be backed up and restored at a later date, should it become necessary.

Transcend also mentioned the StoreJet Elite backup and security software, which should expand the functionality of the newcomer even further.

Either way, 1 TB, 1.5 TB or 2 TB of storage space are crammed inside a casing measuring 172.4 x 152.4 × 44.8 mm.

Those interested in buying one of the three will have to be ready to part with 75.74 Euro, 90.48 Euro and 123.56 Euro, respectively.
