Not an Easter Edition, the developer notes

Berbie has released a new version of its free route planning application, TrailRunner. The iteration includes the usual laundry of bug fixes, as well as a personal note from the app's developer. TrailRunner is free to download and use on Macs running Tiger or Leopard, while separate versions are available for each OS.

According to the release notes, TrailRunner 1.9.1.356 fixes a problem where the helper application TrackRecord did not launch, while the route table date column now shouldn't display 01.01.01 as the routes date value. Command-T did not add a new workout entry with the route data copied in, an issue which the latest version of the software should fix. Lastly, Berbie claims to have “found and fixed a spurious crasher problem.” “Note: Not that this is the easter [sic] edition with a lot of hidden eggs, but I wish you some very relaxing days. Thanks everyone for your great support!! – berbie,” the developer points out.

TrailRunner can calculate a route for the desired distance, and export directions onto the user's iPod. This way, users get detailed orientation, while keeping the workout going. In recent releases, the company introduced the ability to display collected workout data within the program, matching the recordings with routes created by users. TrailRunner integrates with nikeplus.com, the online community for the Nike SportBand, and the Apple Nike+ iPod Sport Kit running devices.

The application, although initially released a long time ago, is still in prerelease state. All current releases of TrailRunner will run for about three months. Berbie urges users to update regularly to the most current version, as well as review and accept the License-Agreement that comes with the application, before using it. TrailRunner versions above 1.6 (including the one available for download today) require Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard to run. The only remaining version supported on Tiger is TrailRunner 1.6. Both supported versions are available using the download link below.
