14 DAY TRIAL // Berbie has updated TrailRunner, its route-planning software for Mac OS X. The maintenance update is recommended to all TrailRunner users and can be downloaded for free right here, on our website.
The release notes for TrailRunner Build 1.9.1 (v360) reveal that Berbie has acknowledged and fixed three nasty bugs in TrailRunner. The developer says it has resolved a problem where workouts did not display the correct distance in the diagram legend, as well as a crasher when switching between the routes and workouts view. Lastly, the new version should also fix an issue where tracks imported from the Garmin Training Center were sometimes cut off at the end (peer, pilhuhn).
TrailRunner now has the ability to import and display lap information from Garmin fitness devices. Garmin, for its part, has recently updated Garmin ANT Agent to version 2.0.3, also available as a free download right here, on our website.
TrailRunner can calculate a route for the desired distance, and export directions onto the users' iPod. This way, they get detailed orientation, while keeping the workout going. In recent releases, the company has introduced the ability to display collected workout data within the program, matching the recordings with routes created by users. TrailRunner integrates with nikeplus.com, the online community for the Nike SportBand, and the Apple Nike+ iPod Sport Kit-running devices.
Although released for quite some time, TrailRunner is still in the pre-release state. All current releases of TrailRunner will run for about three months. Berbie urges users to regularly update to the most current version, as well as review and accept the License Agreement that comes with the application, before using it. TrailRunner versions above 1.6 (including the one available for download today) require Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard to run. The only remaining version supported on Tiger is TrailRunner 1.6.
