Animal lovers like the 11-year-old boy from Brazil will risk anything just to avoid seeing suffering creatures. Jean Fernandes risked his life, jumping in the middle of a busy road, to save a dog that had been hit by a car.

After injuring the puppy, the driver drove off and left the poor animal lying in the middle of the road. The boy didn't think twice when saw the incident and ran between moving vehicles to remove the dog from the street and take him to safety.

The poor animal was injured and confused and remained in the road until Jean ran to pick him up. This was not the first time the boy rescued animals as his mother, Rubia Liliana Rose, told BioBioChile that her son has a deep love for animals and rescues them on a regular basis, caring for all kinds of abandoned or mistreated pets.

A photographer that happened to be at the spot, Rafaela Martins, captured the amazing images of Jean rescuing the injured dog and after being posted on Facebook by Brazil's Animal Rights News Agency, they won people's admiration for the little hero. The photos show how the boy takes the dog into his arms and gets him out of the street.

Luckily, the canine didn't suffer any major injuries and is now in the care of a local animal center from Itajai, Brazil. Kind acts like the one Jean showed, while risking his life to save the poor dog, prove that kids are really a kind of small heroes.

But Brazil is not the only country to witness this sort of heroic acts, Boston Police struggled to save a Pitt Bull who was seen wandering on the commuter train tracks. People reported seeing the poor animal and feared the dog could be severely injured. One of the officers rushed to save the animal and take him to safety.
