Upon announcing for the first time the Touch Pro2 and Touch Diamond2, HTC also mentioned that the handsets were expected to become available for purchase all around the world, and we already learned that they were heading towards Europe, Asia and the US, where they were expected to come to the airwaves of more than one wireless carrier, namely Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile, with Verizon now among them.

A recently spotted HTC document intended for FCC shows that the HTC Touch Pro2 is intended to be a World phone, and that it has support for both CDMA and GSM radios, while the GSM capabilities of the device have been “disabled by firmware” and the phone “is SIM locked for all US operators.” This means that, although the device has them both, it will only come to the US market with one of them enabled, namely CDMA.

But that is not all that can be said about the Touch Pro2. While we recently saw a Sprint version of the phone into the wild and learned only yesterday that AT&T would have its own variant, it is now high time to say that Verizon will also get its own branded Touch Pro2, and that, hopefully, the carrier will get the device on the market sooner than it managed to get the original Touch Diamond. At the same time, it seems that Verizon will also have an HTC Cedar released through Alltel's airwaves, which means that a Verizon-branded Cedar might also surface in the near future.

In related news, we learn that the HTC Touch Pro2 World phone is expected to hit the UK market as soon as June 12, which is not too far in the future. As you can easily imagine, that Touch Pro2 will be the UK version of the handset, which is reported to sport a price tag of 519.99 pounds via eXpansys UK (hopefully it will sell for less when it hits the market).

Until the HTC Touch Pro2 becomes available for purchase, you might wanna take a look at the video below, which seems to show it in its full splendor while running under the upcoming Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.
